Miriam Alden, the Vancouver-based designer behind BRUNETTE the Label, created her personality defining line to elevate and celebrate her community of Babes when marketing her first business, Brunette Showroom, and has evolved from there. It was a chance to uplift the women around her, and, as a female entrepreneur herself, inspire fellow female innovators to live with confidence. It was this essence that spurred an exclusive collaboration with ShopNK: a classic crew emblazoned with black-on-black graphics so you, too, can tell the world exactly who you are.
Here, we spoke to four incredible female leaders (plus, a teensy one from the next generation!) sporting this empowering piece about what they are grateful for this past year.
Lexi Miles, founder of Waxon (BLONDE):
“I would have to say I’m most grateful for the growth we have experienced over the last year both personally and professionally. I’m always so grateful for the incredible women that work so hard at WAXON every day to transform our vision into reality.I am also expecting our second baby in March so I feel incredibly grateful for our baby on the way, my little girl Piper, and my very supportive husband, Adam.”
Ali Budd, Interior designer ( JET BLACK):
“I am grateful for where I am at professionally. My team and I had been needing a new office for a long time and then the perfect space came up. I feel like I am living my dream and it’s really exciting to think about what’s coming up next.”
Lucia Remedios, owner of Analogue Gallery (BRUNETTE):
“I am grateful for happy, healthy kids and all the amazing things we have coming up in the New Year. My gallery is turning 10 this month, so we are having a big celebration in a couple of weeks.”
Trang Trinh, founder and CEO, TREC Brands (JET BLACK):
“I am grateful for my second family, the TREC brands team. We started the company in January and now we have 14 people on staff. Day in and day out, they work so hard to make our vision, our mission and strategy come true.”
